Meet Mackenzie

My name is Mackenzie Bagwell and I am the Office Assistant at Acupuncture and Apothecary. I received my Bachelors in Theater at UNC Greensboro with a concentration in Makeup and Costume Design. After my first professional internship with Utah Festival Opera, I came to the realization that my heart just wasn’t in theater. Once back in NC, I became an Assistant Manager at JoAnn’s Fabric and started an online business selling vintage clothing and handmade accessories called Vintage Trenz

After following my fiancé’s job around the Carolinas for the last couple of years, we finally settled in Durham and immediately fell in love with the Triangle! I have always been very outgoing and sociable so I am grateful for this opportunity to help others. Growing up, my family always promoted holistic healing, so I share the same appreciation for herbal medicine and natural remedies. I am eager to expand my knowledge and learn the methodology of acupuncture and Chinese medicine. That is why I am so thrilled to be working with Abby & Christa at A&A!

When I’m not at the office, I’m usually hiking with my fiancée and our two dogs Han and Chewie! I possess a deep love and admiration for nature, so I get outdoors as much as I can. Additionally, I love to cook and bring in fresh herbs and veggies from our garden. However, my greatest joy in life is to create art; I’ve always enjoyed expressing myself through painting, sculpting, drawing, and especially special effects makeup! I hope to bring my creativity to A&A and eventually manage our social media page.

I look forward to having you in our clinic soon, please reach out to me via our office phone 919-241-5395 or email with any questions about our clinic or to help set up an appointment for you or a loved one!
